Great food, excellent service and hospitality! Tim, the owner was welcoming and engaging. We had the pork shoulder and the meatloaf. The shoulder was tender and the sauce was tangy, sweet with a touch of heat. The meatloaf is exactly a meatloaf without the breadcrumb fillers. Enjoyed it with homemade mashed potatoes. The Mac& cheese was creamy! Would definitely come back!
The food is always good here. My favorite is the catfish. Its so Good i get mad when it ain't in the days menu . Also there wings with the Honey hole sauce or slamming. If they have banana pudding go ahead and get a gallon size it's that good... So is the Red velvet and Carmel cake. This place is definite hit.
Today I tried Honey Hole. Very tasty little joint. I had a catfish fillet fried with creamy cole slaw and baked beans. With the added touch of fresh cut onion slices and some pickles. Flavors were spot on and quantity of food compared to price, this place has got it figured out. Then add some good fresh brewed sweet a to wash it all down. The service staff was kind and helpful. I really enjoyed my lunch at this place. I will be going back to enjoy future specials. Great job b Honey Hole.
What a wonderful find. I've driven past it many times, but finally made the trip out of my way to try it out. I'm glad I did. I just don't know how often I will go there. I will discuss the food, the value, the staff and decor. Apparently, the menu changes daily. Despite the questionable name of the place, it was fun being there. I ordered the fried pork chop, green beans and unsweet tea. Food is served in a Styrofoam clam-shell if you are dining in or taking out. This pork chop was HUGE. It was easily 3/4 the size of the container. A good 3/4" thick, it had a nice coating, not too much. It was so juicy and perfectly fried. It is possibly the best pork chop of any kind I've ever eaten. The green beans were too salty for me, and you had to pay extra for them. A nice roll came with the meal. Iced tea was flavorful. With tip, the bill came to about $14, which I cringed at when it was presented. After eating the food, I realized it was a good deal. After all, you can easily spend $10 at a fast food joint and this was so much better. Not trying to be prejudiced here, but this is a "Soul Food" restaurant. I've been to some staffed by all white folks. This is staffed by African-Americans and that lead authenticity to the place. I expected some more traditional soul food offerings. One of today's features were taco dishes. They looked great, but, "Soul Food"? Clientele was a good mixture of Caucasian and African American. Blue collars were all over the place. Again, it added credibility to the place as a great place to eat. The staff was so friendly and helpful. They were great. When I told my server that the chop was wonderful, the entire staff behind the counter over heard and thanked me. Divey best describes the decor. There is nothing fancy here. But, then again, some of the best food places are like this. Worth going back again, if I can manage the trip.
These turnip greens though!!! Very good. Ok, I've seen this restaurant in passing several times and today I decided to stop by. Glad I did! In ordered baked chicken, turnip greens, sweet potatoes and Mac n cheese Greens - flavorful and not too much vinegar. loved! Chicken - great seasoning, tender and great flavor! Sweet potatoes- good! Mac n cheese - although it's not baked Mac n cheese, I love it. The sauce is just right, not runny and they actually seasoned with salt/pepper. No complaint there. Great customer service, greeted with a smile. Quickly produced my order. I'd definitely return and suggest you try it!
